A recent study proves the BugBan effective for reducing blood-sucking midge (gnat, no-see-um) bites by an average of about 90 percent.

The tests were conducted by the Department of Biological Services, University of Dundee in Scotland.  Three groups of six persons each participated, two acting as "controls" and four wearing BugBans.

• BugBan will last for up to 40 hours   outside its original vapor barrier bag. This is just pennies per hour for mosquito protection.
  
• Wear BugBan indoors for 10-15 minutes prior to going outside for best results. This allows the scent to soak into your clothes and cover your skin. Wear on wrist, ankle, and chain around the neck for clouds of mosquitoes.
  
• Never wear heavily scented hairsprays, colognes, or perfumes. Since mosquitoes are scent driven, this will actually attract them.
  
• Areas of high mosquito populations may require you to use more than one band. Customers report they may land on you, but not bite, since the band desensitizes the scenting ability.
  
• Nothing on the market is 100% effective. Some people have a body chemistry that prevents even pure DEET from being effective.
  
• Always store BugBan between uses in its original vapor barrier bag (fold the end over itself, and close with tape, rubber band, or paper clip). The vapor barrier bag is not regular plastic. It is a special film that reduces the release of fragrance molecules.
  
• BugBan has a unopened shelf life of approximately 2 years if stored in a COOL, DRY place.

BugBan products contain a fragrance that's pleasant to humans, but knocks the bugs for a loop. They are scent driven. They respond to people and carbon dioxide.

The BugBan limits an insect's ability to sense most people's presence. You become "invisible."

When using BugBans, avoid using other fragrances such as hairspray and/or cologne. (A few people have a body chemistry that produces a fragrance that is difficult to hide.)
